If fuels innovative teaching and expands the science program to benefit not only the students but also those in the greater community through partnerships with universities, non-profit organizations and industry leaders. The building is located at a high elevation point and offers students and faculty beautiful views of Newport Beach and the Pacific Ocean beyond.
The science center was designed with input from faculty, parents and industry professionals. The building design creates spaces devoted to each scientific discipline, which help to facilitate collaborative, project-based learning and opportunities for real life problem-solving.
The learning spaces support both outstanding core subject education and expanded offerings such as robotics, engineering, astronomy and artificial intelligence. These new spaces are geared towards providing practical applications for cutting-edge science, preparing students to become innovators who will drive a high-tech economy.
In facilitating discussions with stakeholders, the design team was also able to identify and respond to the desire for expanding the Public Purpose and Service Learning mission through science-oriented events and interactive opportunities with the greater community.
