Fox Point Farms is a new agrihood community in Encinitas set on 21.5 acres, consists of 250 homes, including a mix of for-sale cottages, carriage units, and townhomes. Of these units, 39 are set aside as “very low” (at or below 50 percent of area median income) affordable residential units. The site will engage its community through a unique amenity mix tailor-made for the temperate Southern California climate, with a community recreation center, an event venue, and a farm stand and farm-to-table restaurant, with produce sourced from the on-site 5.5 acres of farmland.
Edible landscaping, community gardens, trails, a bocce court, social spaces, and a community library ensure that this development will remain an asset for the community for years to come. After completing the site plan, concept plan, and concept design for the entire site, Steinberg Hart partnered with Starck Architecture & Planning to design the 53 for-sale units and with Tecture to design the restaurant, farm-stand interiors, and agricultural buildings, which includes a microbrewery. The northern portion of the project site will remain in agricultural use, serving as an organic farm operation.
