We are delighted to share that three Steinberg Hart projects was honored at the PCBC 2024 Gold Nugget Awards on June 19th! The PCBC Gold Nugget Award program has celebrated design excellence since 1963. These awards celebrate those who improve our communities through exceptional concepts in design, planning, and development. Steinberg Hart Partner, Katia McClain, and Senior Project Designer, Lina Asad, will be attending the PCBC Gold Nugget Award Ceremony.
Steinberg Hart’s recently completed Meridian has been honored with a Grand Award in the category of Best Affordable Housing Community (60 – 100 acre). The 90-unit development, by Related California, Steinberg Hart, and Core Builders, integrates affordable and developmentally disabled homes into the neighborhood through scaled massing and thoughtful integration with the context, orchestrating a sustainable community emphasizing healthy environments, and creating landscape connections building community support and trust.
Steinberg Hart’s Southeastern Live Well Center also received a Grand Award in the category of Best Special Use Project. This Facility is the sixth regional community service hub, providing a variety of health and community services. It offers a single stop for residents in a conveniently located, modern, and sustainably designed building. The Southeastern Live Well Center goes beyond being a healthcare facility; it serves as a testament to community unity achieved through self-expression and art by showcasing the talents of local artists.
The jury also honored the County of San Diego HHSA Public Health Lab with a Merit Award in the category of Best Special Use Project. Located at the dynamic Campus of the County Operations Center, the under-construction Public Health Lab embodies a perfect fusion of modernism and sustainability. The 53,500 SF Public Health Lab is targeting LEED Platinum and houses labs, a BSL-3 lab, and administrative support spaces.
