Jack McDonald Hall is the newest residence hall for Stanford’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) and includes 202 suite-style bedroom units. In collaboration with the Mexico City-based firm Legoretta, Steinberg Hart worked to create a residential complex with a strong sense of personality and character.
A lobby lounge, roof terrace, and various multi-purpose spaces invite interaction, networking, and camaraderie, traits that define the Stanford business school experience. Situated adjacent to the existing Schwab Residential Center, Jack McDonald Hall incorporates the vocabulary of Schwab, with three- and four-story wings arranged around interconnected courtyards. These outdoor spaces, notable for their bold splashes of color and artistic details, offer students a place to socialize, or seek quiet contemplation.
With the addition of Jack McDonald Hall to the business school complex, the entire first year MBA program can be housed in one central location. The residence hall also provides accommodations for Stanford GSB’s executive program, which educates select professionals during the academic year, as well as during the summer.
