Vikas Shrestha and Avideh Haghighi, who both serve as board members of AIA|LA’s Committee On The Environment (COTE), will be attending the group’s first conference in Los Angeles. 2°C Symposium on Climate Change is a unifying platform for the public, the architectural design community and the building industry to discuss and address the sustainability issues challenging our society today.

As an active member of his alma mater’s community, Gautam Shenoy will be leading a workshop for graduate students at the USC School of Architecture. Presenting your Thesis will help guide graduate students through developing their thesis presentations, as well as public speaking tips and tricks.

Elnaz Tafrihi will be leading two sessions, Localized Rigidification Through PCM Freezing and Heat-Actuated Auxetic Facades, at the Facade Tectonics 2018 World Congress. Hosted by the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, this year’s annual conference is built around the theme of SKINS on Campus. Discussions combine networking with industry and academic leaders along with a deep exploration of the building facade as an integrative factor in holistic building design. Several additional members of our team will be in attendance, including Jim McLane and Edmund Rivera.

As a member of the Los Angeles Business Council Board of Directors, David Hart will be joining regional elected officials and fellow business leaders for ACCESS D.C. The delegation will meet with federal lawmakers to advocate on core issues ranging from transportation and health care, to immigration and education. David will be serving as a member of the Housing & Homelessness team.

David Hart will be joining the panel of fellow architecture leaders at LAHQ’s The Inside Track on SoCal Projects: Architects Panel and Roundtable Discussion in Los Angeles. The dialogue will spotlight exciting on-the-boards projects from across the Los Angeles region.

Katia McClain will be joining fellow architecture and construction management professionals at the CMAA Capital Projects Symposium 2018 in Denver. The high-level conference will explore technology, project delivery, and innovation in construction management practices.

Katia McClain, Brigitte Williams, Jin Zhu, and Anna Harik will be attending the AI.18 conference presented by the AIA Silicon Valley Chapter. The 2018 Architectural Intelligence: Building a Better Silicon Valley conference will focus discussion on equity and leadership, sustainability, and urbanism in the Silicon Valley region.
