Qingpu Zhujiajiao Senior Living

Shanghai, China

Located in a part of Shanghai with significant history, this flagship project embraces the area’s distinctive culture through its modernized Chinese-style design. Offering senior residents a variety of low density and high density options, the buildings’ typical floorplans are arranged around a central, outdoor courtyard. This design connects back to the traditional, small courtyard homes found throughout this cultural historic district. The courtyards also promote a more active lifestyle within the senior community by creating easy access to outdoor space and its corresponding health benefits.

Dedicated to preserving and respecting waterways and the natural environment of this sensitive site, the project is planned around protecting a significant span of heritage trees, including four grove clusters. The trees offer additional programmed space for residents and the outside community to interface. This sustainable project will be LEED certified and designed to a China Green Building Star standard.
