David HartAIA, NCARB, LEED AP
David Hart has over 29 years of practice on a variety of residential, higher education, and civic projects in California and abroad. He believes architecture should celebrate human emotion and play host to unique spaces for people to live, learn, work, and play.
Joining Steinberg Hart in 2002, David developed the firm’s reputation as a leader in Higher Education design focusing on aspirational, student-centered projects. He now leads the firm’s large-scale mixed-use projects in urban cores with a focus on transit oriented development, affordability, community building and value creation for clients. David continues to evolve the practice by building diverse, highly-talented teams and successfully expanding Steinberg Hart’s geographic influence.
An internationally award-winning designer, he has been recognized for projects including the University of Otago Information Services Building in New Zealand, UCLA Hitch Suites, and the Griffith Observatory Renovation and Expansion in Los Angeles. Passionate about sustainable design, he oversaw Steinberg Hart’s completion of Cal State Fullerton Student Housing, the first LEED Platinum student housing project in the nation.
David is a member of the ULI Urban Revitalization Council, the LABC Board of Directors, and BAC Board of Directors. He is a sought-after speaker and juror, both in the United States and abroad.
