With over thirty years of experience, Janene Christopher has been instrumental in the growth of our civic practice in San Diego. She has had leadership positions on design-build projects with an aggregate construction value of over $700M. As a founding partner of RJC Architects, Janene served as project lead on more than 1,000 public buildings in Southern California and continues to play a key role as a strategic Steinberg Hart leader. Janene continues to oversee construction documents and quality assurance for our San Diego office.
A former president of AIA San Diego’s Women in Architecture and a former director of California Women in Environmental Design, Janene was named as one of San Diego Business Journal’s “25 Women Who Mean Business”.
Janene’s career is characterized by her commitment to lifelong learning and her focused concentration on developing operational procedures that result in consistent service at the highest quality. These character traits reflect her approach to life as well as architecture: ten years after taking up tennis as an adult, Janene won a USTA district championship. In the office or on the court, Janene seeks out challenges, enjoys the moment, and agrees with Billie Jean King that “pressure is a privilege.”
